Simple and very well laid out for a beginner like me. I have always approached sketching as having to try and draw the mental picture i have and it always seems skewed and disproportioned and after applying the methods shown in this step by step book by Rob Marzullo, my sketches are improving daily no matter if it's pencil to paper or using the Wacom. I definitely recommend this for anyone with a passion to draw but wants to build a systematic approach versus a frustrated wing-it mode.
Easy to follow
I was SOOO excited for this book to come. It was not until I realized that the pages were not all separated! I had to individually tear them apart page by page to see what the page was. It's a good book, if only I didn't have to carefully tear the pages piece by piece.
I have bought quite a few how to draw books, and really like the artist who did this one, but in terms of being helpful, it was pretty much the same as every other how to draw comics book that's out there!
It’s been over 30 years since I picked up a pencil and started drawing again. This book was the first one I bought, and let me tell you it rocks!I’ve been following Robert Marzullo on YouTube for awhile now and he gives aspiring artists some great tools to improved their technique! This book expounds on that! He covers a lot of the YouTube videos, and a ton more, in this book.I’m extremely grateful that I found him on YouTube! He’s definitely helped improve my ability in a short time!
My son loves using this book. He practices the drawings in it and shows improvement. We have another book that's part one or volume one, can't remember but I used that one to draw my item created heroes for our heroes week theme at work. I wish there were more. One thing though. I am still looking for a book that truly teaches step by step such as how to apply the muscles and different head angles. This one gives poses but my son carries out everywhere and is best compared to others I've checked out.
